Premier Health Plan to Exit Ohio Federally Facilitated Health Insurance Exchange

Amid significant uncertainty surrounding the future direction of U.S. health care policy, Premier Health Plan will join several other health insurers by discontinuing all of its current Premier HealthOne On-Exchange and Off-Exchange plans at the end of 2017.  Premier Health Plan will continue to offer one Off-Exchange plan from January 1, 2018 through March 31, 2018 only, after which time Premier Health Plan will offer no coverage in the individual, under age 65, market in Ohio. This affects our individual on-exchange and off-exchange plans only; it does not affect our Medicare Advantage or commercial group plans.  Coverage for members enrolled in this plan will continue through Dec. 31, 2017. Affected members will receive a formal notice letter from Premier Health Plan in early October with detailed information.

If affected members need to maintain health insurance coverage in 2018, they must enroll in a new plan during the Open Enrollment Period (which runs from November 1 through December 15, 2017).
